My story

I saw that the Bible said that God is a lot more good than I thought (Ps 107:1). It said that I'll have to give an account of myself to Him (Rom 14:12), and that His goodness requires Him to hold me accountable and to punish evil. But then it said that Jesus valued me enough that He took the punishment that I'd earned on himself (Isa 53:5). All I had to do was to trust Him that if I let him be in charge over my life that He would take care of me from then on (John 1:12). I've really enjoyed getting to know Him, what it means to love (Mark 12:30-31) and forgive (Col 3:13). It's good stuff.
